New Hudson is a small town located in Allegany County, New York, United States. In 2020, about 801 people lived there. The town is on the western edge of Allegany County, just northeast of the city of Olean.

History of New Hudson
The first settlers arrived in the New Hudson area around 1820. The town was first named "Town of Haight" in 1825. It was created from a part of the town of Rushford.
The name was changed to New Hudson in 1837. The original name, Haight, came from a military general. However, the people living there decided to change the name because they were unhappy with his many demands.
Geography of New Hudson
New Hudson covers a total area of about 94.1 square kilometers (36.4 square miles). Most of this area, about 93.7 square kilometers (36.28 square miles), is land. Only a small part, about 0.3 square kilometers (0.12 square miles), is water.
The western border of the town is also the border of Cattaraugus County. New York State Route 305 is a main road that runs through the town. It generally follows along Black Creek. Black Creek is a small stream that flows into the Genesee River.

- Bellville – A small village or hamlet located in the northern part of the town.
- Black Creek – This is a hamlet found along Route 305 in the southern part of the town. It is also the name of a tributary (a smaller stream that flows into a larger one) of the Genesee River. This creek flows northeast through the town, passing by the Black Creek hamlet and Lyons Corners.
- Lyons Corners – Another hamlet located on Route 305, close to the southern border of the town.
- Marshall – A hamlet situated near the eastern town line, southwest of McGrawville.
- McGrawville – A hamlet near the northern town line, northeast of Bellville.
- Rawson – A community located right on the western town line, along County Road 7A.
