New London is a small city in Ralls County, Missouri, United States. In 2020, about 943 people lived there. It is the main town, or county seat, of Ralls County.
New London is part of the Hannibal area. A person named William Jameson started the town in 1819. New London became the county seat in 1820. The Ralls County Courthouse in New London was built in 1858. It is the oldest courthouse still standing in Missouri.

History of New London
New London was planned out in 1819. The town was named after the famous city of London, England. A post office opened in New London in 1820. In the same year, it became the county seat for Ralls County.
The county courthouse was built in 1858. It is the oldest courthouse in the entire state of Missouri. There is a World War I cannon in front of the courthouse. Today, the Ralls County Courthouse and Jail-Sheriff's House are listed as important historic places. This means they are protected because of their history.
Geography of New London
New London is located where two main roads meet: US Route 61 and Missouri Route 19. The Salt River flows nearby, about one or two miles to the north and east. The big Mississippi River is about nine miles to the east. The city of Hannibal is about eight miles north on Route 61.
The city covers a total area of about 0.69 square miles (1.8 square kilometers). All of this area is land.
