New Parks is a lively neighborhood in the city of Leicester, England. It is a residential area where many families live. In 2011, about 17,128 people called New Parks home. It is also an electoral ward, which is a local area that elects representatives to the city council.
Where is New Parks?
New Parks is located in the western part of Leicester. To its south, you'll find the Western Park area. To the north is the Beaumont Leys neighborhood. East of New Parks is the Fosse area.
Shops and Fun Places
New Parks has many shops close to where people live. There are also places for fun and exercise, like leisure centres. On March 16, 2010, a brand new library opened in New Parks. It's called the New Parks Centre Library. This library cost £1.5 million to build. It was funded by the Big Lottery Fund and the Leicester City Council. Local residents and Councillor Andy Connelly helped open it.

There are several primary schools in the New Parks area. These include Braunstone Frith Primary School, Forest Lodge Academy, Inglehurst Primary School, Fosse Primary School, Parks Primary School, and Stokes Wood Primary School. For older students, there is one secondary school called New College Leicester.
Local Leaders
Local leaders, called councillors, help make decisions for the community. They represent the people of New Parks on the city council.
