Ocumare del Tuy is a city in northern Venezuela. It is found in Miranda State. This city is the main town of the Lander Municipality.
Ocumare del Tuy is known for its pleasant weather. It has warm, clear days with sunshine most of the year. The city gets about 60 days of rain each year. Temperatures usually stay between 18 and 28 °C (64 to 83 °F). The air is not too humid, which makes the weather even nicer.
In 2005, Ocumare del Tuy had about 160,000 people living there. Many people in the city work in farming. They grow crops like cocoa, coffee, and sugar cane. People also raise animals such as pigs and cattle. The area around the city has many green forests and open fields.
Ocumare del Tuy was once a very important city. It served as the capital of Miranda state from 1904 to 1928. After that, the capital moved first to Petare and then to Los Teques.
