Ogdensburg is a small town, called a borough, located in Sussex County, in the state of New Jersey, United States. In 2020, about 2,258 people lived here.
The borough was officially created on February 26, 1914. It was formed from a part of Sparta Township. Ogdensburg is named after its first settler, Robert Ogden. In 2008, New Jersey Monthly magazine said Ogdensburg was the 27th best place to live in New Jersey.

Some smaller areas and place names within the borough include Heaters Pond, South Ogdensburg, and Sterling Hill.
Ogdensburg shares its borders with other towns in Sussex County. These include Franklin, Hardyston Township, and Sparta Township.
A special mineral called Ogdensburgite was named after this borough. It is an arsenate mineral.

Roads and Highways
As of 2010, Ogdensburg had about 14.36 miles (23.11 km) of roads. Most of these roads are taken care of by the borough itself. The most important road in Ogdensburg is County Route 517. There are no major interstate or U.S. highways that go through the borough.
Public Transportation
The county offers a bus service called Skylands Ride. This bus service travels between Sussex and Newton.
Historic Places to Visit
Ogdensburg is home to several places listed on the National Register of Historic Places. These are important sites that are protected because of their history.
- Backwards Tunnel – This tunnel is located on Cork Hill Road. It was added to the list in 2005.
- Sterling Hill Mining Museum – You can find this museum on Plant Street. It was added to the list in 1991.
- In the late 1800s, famous inventor Thomas A. Edison built the Edison Ore-Milling Company in Ogdensburg. He tried to get iron from low-quality ores using a special electromagnetic process. However, this method did not work well for large-scale production.
