Nanna Øland Fabricius (born on May 2, 1985), known as Oh Land, is a Danish musician. She is a talented singer, songwriter, and dancer.

Early Life of Oh Land
Oh Land was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. Her father, Bendt Fabricius, was an organist. Her mother, Bodil Øland, was an opera singer. Oh Land is also related to Otto Fabricius, a famous explorer. He wrote a book about animals in Greenland in 1780.
Oh Land trained as a dancer at the Royal Danish Ballet and Royal Swedish Ballet schools. Sadly, her dancing career ended because of an injury. She had a slipped disc and a spinal fracture. This injury led her to start making music instead.
Oh Land's Music Career
First Albums: Fauna and Oh Land (2008–2011)
Oh Land's first album, Fauna, came out in Denmark in 2008. It was released by Fake Diamond Records. For her next album, called Oh Land, she worked with famous producers. These included Dan Carey and Dave McCracken.
The album Oh Land was released in 2011. It reached number five on the Danish Albums Chart. It was also her first album released in the United States. There, it reached number 184 on the Billboard 200 chart. Before the full album, a smaller EP (Extended Play) was released in 2010. It had four songs from the album.
In 2011, Oh Land won the Brink of Fame: Music Artist award. She also performed her song "Sun of a Gun" on popular TV shows. These included Late Show with David Letterman and Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
Oh Land toured North America in 2011. She opened for bands like Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark and Sia. She also joined Katy Perry on her California Dreams Tour. Oh Land also acted in a Danish film in 2007 called Hvid nat. Her song "Speak Out Now" became the theme for the TV series Rita in 2012.
Wish Bone Album (2012–2013)
On May 20, 2013, Oh Land released "Renaissance Girls". This was the first song from her third album, Wish Bone. The album came out in Denmark in September 2013. It was also released in the United States.
The second song from the album, "Pyromaniac", was released in September 2013. Oh Land started her Wish Bone tour in New York City.
Acting, Voice Junior, and Earth Sick (2014)
In 2014, Oh Land appeared in a Danish movie called The Salvation. She played the role of Marie. Famous actors like Mads Mikkelsen and Eva Green were also in the film.
Oh Land also started working on her fourth album in 2014. She recorded it in her apartment in Brooklyn. She used crowdfunding to help pay for the album. Part of the money also went to Greenpeace to help save the Arctic.
The album was named Earth Sick. Its first song, "Head Up High", came out in October 2014. Oh Land performed this song live on Voice Junior. She was a coach on this Danish TV show. The music video for "Head Up High" was released later that month. Nylon magazine described the song as a "victorious electro-jam." Earth Sick was released in November 2014.
Soundtracks and Family Tree (2015–2020)
In 2015, Oh Land became the composer for a pantomime version of Cinderella. This show was at the Tivoli Pantomime Theatre. Queen Margrethe II helped design the sets. Oh Land's first soundtrack album for this show was released in 2016.
In 2017, Oh Land worked with her husband, Eske Kath, on an art show called "SKIBET." She later released a soundtrack album for this exhibition in 2018, called "Watermusic". In 2018, Oh Land recorded a new version of Denmark's national anthem. It was used as the theme for the Netflix series The Rain.
Oh Land performed for Danish Crown Prince Frederik's 50th birthday in 2018. She performed with a symphony orchestra and dancers. In July 2018, she became an ambassador for WWF's Wild School project. She traveled to Kenya for this project.
On February 11, 2019, she released the song "Human Error". She also announced her new album, Family Tree, which came out in May 2019. That year, she also became a judge on the Danish TV show X Factor.
Oh Land wrote music for a musical based on "The Snow Queen" fairy tale. It premiered in December 2019. Queen Margrethe II designed the costumes for this show too. Oh Land also worked with the artist Tricky on his 2020 album, Fall to Pieces.
Recent Projects: Xtra EP and Loop Soup (2022–Present)
From May to June 2022, Oh Land performed in an opera called "Manualen & De syv dødssynder."
In October 2022, Oh Land shared that she was working on a new EP. It would feature songs in Danish. The EP, called Xtra, was released in November 2022. It included four new songs.
In June 2023, Oh Land announced another new album. This album, Loop Soup, was released in September 2023. Later that year, a ballet based on "Julefeber" was performed. Oh Land composed the music for this ballet.
Oh Land's Personal Life
Oh Land moved from Denmark to New York City in 2010. She lived in the Williamsburg area of Brooklyn. In 2016, Oh Land moved back to Denmark.
She married artist Eske Kath in 2013 at a zoo in Denmark. Their first son, Svend, was born in New York in 2016. The family then moved to Søborg, a suburb of Copenhagen. Oh Land and Eske Kath later decided to go their separate ways in 2018.
Oh Land has a small dog named Ujan who sometimes travels with her. In August 2020, Oh Land had her second son with her partner, Adi Zukanović.
Oh Land's Musical Style
Oh Land's music is often described as pop. It is catchy but also a bit experimental. Her voice can go from soft to very powerful.
Her album Family Tree showed a new direction in her music. It still had her unique style. Some people felt it had a gospel influence. It also used strong vocals and orchestral sounds.
