History of Ohlman
The village of Ohlman was named after a man named Michael Ohlman. He was a captain of a steamboat on the Mississippi River during the American Civil War. The village was built along the Chicago and Eastern Illinois Railroad.

Ohlman is located in the northeastern part of Montgomery County. It shares a border with Christian County to the north.
Roads and Nearby Towns
Illinois Route 16 is a main road that goes through the village. If you travel southwest on this road for about 4.5 miles (7.2 km), you will reach Nokomis. Going northeast for about 8 miles (13 km) will take you to Pana. Hillsboro, which is the main town of Montgomery County, is about 21 miles (34 km) southwest of Ohlman via Illinois Route 16.
