Olesya Yurivna Rulina (Russian: Oлeся Юрьевна Pулина; born March 17, 1986) is an actress from Russia and America. She is most famous for playing Kelsi Nielsen in all three High School Musical movies. She also starred in other films like Private Valentine: Blonde & Dangerous (2008) and Family Weekend (2013).
Growing Up
Olesya Rulin was born in Moscow, which is in Russia. She spent her early childhood in a town called Likhoslavl.
When Olesya was eight years old, she moved to the United States. She joined her father, who had moved there two years before. They first lived in Texas, then later moved to Utah. Olesya finished high school at West Jordan High School in 2005.
Olesya is also a trained ballet dancer. When she was 12, her mother encouraged her to enter a model search contest. She won and was chosen by four different agencies. Olesya can also play the piano.
Before becoming a full-time actress, she worked for a year as a certified nursing assistant. She also worked at stores like Victoria's Secret and Nordstrom. She was working at Nordstrom when the first High School Musical movie came out. She was studying economics in Paris when the auditions for High School Musical 2 happened.

Olesya Rulin is well-known for her role as Kelsi Nielsen in the High School Musical movies. These include High School Musical, High School Musical 2, and High School Musical 3: Senior Year.
Her part in High School Musical 2 was much bigger than in the first movie. She even had a solo in the song "You Are the Music in Me". She also sang a few lines in "Work This Out." Olesya played Kelsi Nielsen again in High School Musical 3: Senior Year. In this movie, her role was even larger, and she performed three songs, including a duet with Lucas Grabeel.

In 2008, Olesya co-starred with Jessica Simpson in the movie Private Valentine: Blonde & Dangerous. In 2009, she was in the drama film Flying By with Billy Ray Cyrus and Heather Locklear.
