Ollie is a small city in Keokuk County, Iowa, in the United States. In 2020, about 201 people lived there. The city was first called Hemingford. But in 1892, the people living there voted to change its name to Ollie.

Education in Ollie

Ollie is part of the Pekin Community School District. Students in Ollie attend Pekin Community High School.

Ollie used to have its own high school. The last class graduated from Ollie High School in 1959. After that, several local school systems joined together. These included schools from Ollie, Richland, Packwood, and Farson. All high school students then started going to Pekin Community High School.

The Ollie school building stayed open for younger students. It was used for grades K-8. Later, in the early 1970s, the Farson school closed. Ollie's building then taught K-5 students from Ollie, Packwood, and Farson. Students in grades 6-8 went to the Packwood building. Finally, in 1978, all these local school buildings closed. A new school for grades K-8 was built next to Pekin High School.
