Omar Bravo Tordecillas (born March 4, 1980) is a Mexican football manager and former footballer. He played as a striker, which means he was a player who focused on scoring goals.
Omar Bravo spent most of his career playing for Guadalajara, a famous Mexican football club. He played over 400 games for them and scored 160 goals. This made him the club's all-time top scorer, which is a huge achievement!

Playing for Football Clubs
Starting with Guadalajara
Omar Bravo joined the youth team of Guadalajara, also known as Chivas. He made his first game with the main team on February 17, 2001. By 2002, he became a regular player, scoring 6 goals in 15 games. He even won an award for the Best Rookie (new player) that year!
In 2005, Bravo was one of the top goal scorers in the league with 12 goals. His great playing helped him win the Best Forward award.
Winning Championships with Guadalajara
In 2006, Bravo had a fantastic season with Guadalajara. He helped the team win the Apertura championship title. He scored an important goal in the final game, helping his team win 3-2 overall. He was the team's top scorer with 8 goals and won the Best Forward award again.
Bravo also played in the 2007 CONCACAF Champions' Cup. He scored goals in important matches, including two goals in the final. Guadalajara didn't win the final, but Bravo was one of the top scorers in the tournament with four goals. In 2007, he won the Golden Boot award for scoring the most goals in the league, with 11 goals in 17 matches. He also won the Best Forward award for the third time.
On April 26, 2008, Omar Bravo scored his 100th goal for Guadalajara. This made him only the second player in the club's history to reach 100 goals!
Playing in Spain: Deportivo La Coruña
In 2008, Omar Bravo moved to Spain to play for Deportivo de La Coruña. He played his first game in the Spanish league, La Liga, on August 31 against Real Madrid. He scored his first goal for the team in December. However, he didn't play many games there, so his time in Spain wasn't as successful as he hoped.
Loan to Tigres UANL
In 2009, Bravo was loaned back to Mexico to play for Tigres UANL for a short time. He played 6 games but didn't score any goals during this loan.
Coming Back to Guadalajara
After his loan, Omar Bravo returned to Guadalajara in August 2009. He signed a new contract and was even named the team's captain.
In 2010, it was announced that Bravo would join Sporting Kansas City in the United States. But he stayed with Guadalajara for the rest of the year. He helped them reach the finals of the 2010 Copa Libertadores, a big South American club tournament, where they finished as runner-up.
Playing in the USA: Sporting Kansas City
When Omar Bravo arrived in Kansas City, he was very excited to play in the MLS. In his very first game for Sporting Kansas City, he scored two goals, helping his team win 3-2! He scored nine goals for Kansas City and was named the MLS Latino Player of the Year.
Time with Cruz Azul and Atlas

In December 2011, Bravo moved back to Mexico to play for Cruz Azul. He scored two goals in one game, helping his new team win 3-1. However, he later felt that he didn't play as well as he wanted to for Cruz Azul.

Because of this, Cruz Azul loaned him to Atlas in December 2012. Atlas is a rival team to his original club, Guadalajara. He played for Atlas for about a year.
Third Time with Guadalajara
On June 4, 2013, it was announced that Omar Bravo would return to Guadalajara for his third time! In December, he was again named the team's captain. In his first game back, he scored a goal in just the third minute of the match.
Becoming Guadalajara's Top Scorer
On August 12, 2015, Bravo scored two goals against Morelia. These goals made him Guadalajara's all-time top scorer in league matches, passing club legend Salvador Reyes! On September 26, he scored two more goals against their big rivals, América, which meant he had scored more goals than Salvador Reyes in all competitions for the club.
In October 2015, he scored the only goal in a semi-final match, helping his team reach the final of the Apertura 2015 Copa MX. The next month, he led the team to win the Copa MX final against León. This was Guadalajara's first major title in nine years! Bravo continued to play well, scoring 11 goals in the 2015-2016 season. On July 10, 2016, he scored his last goal for Chivas, helping them win the Supercopa MX title. This win also earned Guadalajara a spot in the 2017 Copa Libertadores.
Loans to Carolina RailHawks and Phoenix Rising FC
In July 2016, Bravo signed with the Carolina RailHawks, a team in the NASL league in the United States. He was the first Mexican player to join that club.
On February 9, 2017, he moved to another USL club, Phoenix Rising FC. He played for them for a few months before leaving the team in September.
Playing for Leones Negros UdeG
On July 24, 2019, it was announced that Omar Bravo would come out of retirement to play for UdeG for the 2019-2020 season.
Playing for Mexico
Omar Bravo played for different levels of Mexico's national youth teams. He also played in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens.
World Cup and Other Tournaments
On June 11, 2006, Bravo played in the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany. He scored two goals in Mexico's 3-1 victory over Iran and was named the best player of that match! Later in the tournament, he missed a penalty kick against Portugal.
In 2007, Bravo was chosen to play for Mexico in friendly matches and in the 2007 Gold Cup and 2007 Copa América. He scored three goals in the Copa América. He also played in World Cup qualifying games and the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Becoming a Manager
In January 2024, Omar Bravo became the manager (coach) for Arizona Monsoon FC, a football club in the National Independent Soccer Association. He later left the club.

Omar Bravo appeared on the North American cover of the video game FIFA 06 alongside famous players Ronaldinho and Freddy Adu.
