Sidney Brown (born August 21, 1976), known by his stage name Omen, is an American record producer. A record producer helps artists create their music by composing beats, guiding them in the studio, and shaping the overall sound of a song or album.

Originally from Harlem, New York, Omen has created music for some of the biggest names in hip hop and R&B. He has worked with famous artists like Drake, Beyoncé, Lil Wayne, and Ludacris.

Career Beginnings

Omen started his career by making music for artists on the Roc-A-Fella record label. He produced the song "Everybody" for Memphis Bleek's first album, Coming of Age. He also worked with the rapper Amil on her song "No 1 Can Compare."

He continued to work with other popular artists. He produced two songs for Fabolous's album Street Dreams and a track for singer Mýa's album Moodring. In 2002, Omen created all the music for the movie Paper Soldiers.

Winning a Grammy Award

In 2006, Omen's career reached a new high. He produced the song "Tell It Like It Is" for the rapper Ludacris. This song was part of the album Release Therapy.

The album was a huge success and won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album in 2007. This major award earned Omen his first Grammy, a top honor in the music world. The following year, he produced a song for Redman's album Red Gone Wild.

Working with Drake and Lil Wayne

Omen began working with Canadian music producer Noah "40" Shebib. Through this partnership, he met the superstar rapper Drake. Omen produced the song "Shut It Down" for Drake's hit album, Thank Me Later.

He and "40" also co-produced the song "I'm Single" for Lil Wayne. The song first appeared on a mixtape called No Ceilings and was later officially released on Lil Wayne's album I'm Not A Human Being. The album was very popular and reached number one on the Billboard 200 music chart.
