One Mile is a suburb in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia. It is part of the Port Stephens Council area. The Worimi people are the original owners of the land around Port Stephens.

One Mile is a mix of countryside and a small town area. You can find places to stay like eco-resorts and hostels for travelers. There is also a community where people live in homes on rented land. Samurai Beach

Samurai Beach is a more secluded beach. You can usually only reach it with a 4x4 vehicle.

Nature and Wildlife

A large part of One Mile is inside the Tomaree National Park. This park protects the natural environment and wildlife.

Since late 2017, the Port Stephens Koala Hospital has been operating in One Mile. It's located within the grounds of the Treescape resort. This hospital helps sick and injured koalas get better.

Why the Name "One Mile"?

The suburb is officially called One Mile. However, many people, including some road signs until 2016, incorrectly called it "One Mile Beach". This is because the famous beach is a key feature of the area.
