Orfordville is a small village located in Rock County, Wisconsin, in the United States. It sits where Highway 11, Highway 213, and the Wisconsin and Southern Railroad meet. In 2020, about 1,473 people lived there.

History of Orfordville
Orfordville got its name in an interesting way. A surveyor first suggested naming it "Orford." This was after a town in New Hampshire.
However, when a post office was set up, people confused it with Oxford, Wisconsin. To avoid mix-ups, the postmaster general suggested changing the name. That's how it became Orfordville.
Geography and Location
Orfordville is located at specific coordinates: 42.629300 degrees North and -89.256755 degrees West. This means it's in the northern part of the United States. The village sits at an elevation of about 889 feet (271 meters) above sea level.

Education in Orfordville
Orfordville is home to the Parkview School District. This district includes Parkview High School. It also has Parkview Elementary School.
In 2015, a new high school building was constructed. The old high school was then remodeled to become the new Parkview Elementary. After this project, all schools in the Parkview district are now located within Orfordville.
Transportation Options
In the past, Orfordville was a stop for intercity trains. These trains used the Orfordville Depot. Today, the village is still connected by major roads. Highway 11 and Highway 213 both pass through Orfordville.
