Otter Lake is a beautiful lake in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. It is about 50 miles (80 km) north of La Ronge, Saskatchewan. You can easily reach it by taking Highway 102.
This lake is an important part of the larger Churchill River system. In fact, the Churchill River flows right through Otter Lake! The lake is quite big, stretching about 10 miles long and 9 miles wide at its widest point.
Getting There and Nearby Places

The small community of Missinipe is located right on the western side of Otter Lake. Another community, Grandmother's Bay Reserve #219, is found on the north shore.
Otter Lake is just north of Lac La Ronge Provincial Park. This park has several places for RVs, and one of them is on the east side of Otter Lake. Some streets in Missinipe are even part of this RV park. The name "Missinipe" comes from the Woodland Cree language and means "Churchill River."
Fish You Can Find
Otter Lake is a great spot for fishing! Many different types of fish live in its waters. Some of the fish you might catch include walleye, sauger, and yellow perch.
Other fish species found here are northern pike, lake trout, and lake whitefish. You might also find cisco, burbot, white sucker, and longnose sucker.
