Päijät-Häme is a region in Southern Finland. It is located south of the large Lake Päijänne. The region shares borders with several other areas in Finland. These include Uusimaa, Kanta-Häme, Pirkanmaa, Central Finland, South Savo, and Kymenlaakso. The biggest city in Päijät-Häme is Lahti.

In 2021, Iitti became part of Päijät-Häme. Before that, it was part of the Kymenlaakso region.
Regional Symbols: The Coat of Arms
The coat of arms for Päijät-Häme has a special design. It shows a mermaid and a cuckoo bird. The mermaid represents Vellamo, an ancient water goddess from Finnish stories. The cuckoo is a bird often found in the region.
