How Page is Governed
The Page neighborhood is part of a larger area called Ward 11. A "ward" is like a district that elects someone to represent them in the city government. Currently, the person representing Ward 11 on the City Council is Emily Koski. The City Council helps make decisions for Minneapolis.
Community Spirit
Page works together with two other neighborhoods, Hale and Diamond Lake. They all form a group called the Hale Page Diamond Lake Community Association (HDPL). This association helps to make sure the neighborhoods are great places to live. They work on projects and events that benefit everyone.
Pearl Park
One of the best spots in the Page neighborhood is Pearl Park. It's a fun place managed by the MPRB (Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board). The park has a recreation center where you can play sports and join activities. It's located right across the street from Diamond Lake, offering a nice view and a place to relax.
How Page Got Its Name
The Page neighborhood was named after an old school called Page Elementary School. This school isn't there anymore, but its name lives on! The school itself was named to honor a famous writer and diplomat named Walter Hines Page. He was a very important person who worked to build good relationships between countries.
