Palamedes (パラメデス, Paramedesu) is a fun puzzle video game that came out in 1990. It was created by a company called Taito. This game challenges players to think fast and match numbers.

How to Play Palamedes

Palamedes is a puzzle game where you need to match dice. You hold a dice, and your goal is to match it with the dice shown at the top of the screen.

To play, you use the "B" button to change the number on your dice. Once your dice matches the target dice, you press the "A" button. This makes the matching dice disappear from the screen.

The game uses standard six-sided dice. This means there are six different numbers you can match. Clearing all the numbers from the screen is the main challenge.

Game Modes

Palamedes offers different ways to play:

  • Solitaire Mode: You can play by yourself against the computer.
  • Versus Mode: You can play against another friend.
  • Tournament Mode: You compete against computer-controlled opponents, also known as AI.

Where Palamedes Was Played

After its first release in arcades, Palamedes was made available on several home gaming systems. These versions are called "ports."

The game was ported to popular consoles like the NES. It also came out on the MSX, FM-Towns, and Game Boy. These versions let more people play the game at home.

A sequel, Palamedes 2: Star Twinkles, was released in 1991. This second game was only available in Japan for the NES. It kept most of the original game's ideas but changed the direction the game screen scrolled.
