Palestine has a team that competes in the Summer Olympics. This team is managed by the Palestine Olympic Committee. They have been sending athletes to the Summer Olympics since 1996. The special code used for Palestine in the Olympics is PLE. So far, athletes from Palestine have not won any Olympic medals.

Joining the Olympic Family

The Palestine Olympic Committee helps athletes from Palestine join the Olympic Games. This committee became a member of the Olympic Council of Asia in 1986. Later, in 1995, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) officially recognized Palestine. This recognition allowed Palestinian athletes to compete in the Olympics.

Summer Olympics Participation

Palestine first sent athletes to the Summer Olympics in 1996. Since then, they have participated in every Summer Games. These games happen every four years. Palestine has not yet sent any athletes to the Winter Olympics.
