History of Panama
Panama started in 1882. This was when the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railway built a train line through Washington Township. The railway helped the town grow.
Geography of Panama
Panama is a small city. It covers about 0.75 square kilometers (0.29 square miles) of land. There is no water area within the city limits.
The community is found on Iowa Highway 191. It is located right between two larger U.S. Routes: Route 30 and Route 59. This makes it easy to reach.
