Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is an exciting role-playing game for the Nintendo GameCube. It came out in 2004 and is sometimes called Paper Mario 2. This game won an award from IGN.com for being the best role-playing game of its year! It takes place in the fun world of Mario games, but with a cool paper twist.

The Story Begins

The adventure starts when Princess Peach finds a mysterious map in a old, busy town called Rogueport. Mario quickly heads to Rogueport to help her. His mission is to find seven special, star-shaped stones called Crystal Stars. These powerful stars are the key to opening a secret place known as the Thousand-Year Door.

Deep under Rogueport, the Thousand-Year Door is said to hide a very old, scary spirit. But Mario isn't the only one looking for the Crystal Stars! A group of robot-like bad guys called the X-Nauts are also trying to collect them. They want to awaken the evil spirit behind the door to take over the world. Mario must stop them!

During his journey, Mario faces many challenges. The final challenge is fighting the Shadow Queen, a powerful demon who takes over Princess Peach. There are also three mysterious shadows called the Shadow Sirens who are connected to this demon.
