Parrott is a small town in Terrell County, Georgia, in the United States. In 2020, about 120 people lived there. It is part of the larger Albany area.

History of Parrott
Parrott was started in the 1860s. Two important people, James and John L. Parrott, founded the town. The government of Georgia, called the Georgia General Assembly, officially made Parrott a town in 1889.
Geography of Parrott
This town is located in the southwestern part of Georgia. It is along Georgia State Route 520, also known as South Georgia Parkway. This road goes southeast about 9 miles (14 km) to Dawson. Dawson is the main town in Terrell County. The road also goes northwest about 18 miles (29 km) to Richland.
Columbus is about 53 miles (85 km) northwest of Parrott. Albany is about 34 miles (55 km) southeast. The town covers an area of about 0.8 square miles (2.02 square kilometers). All of this area is land.

Arts and Culture in Parrott
Parrott has been a part of some interesting cultural events.
Filming Location
A movie called The Long Riders was filmed in Parrott in 1980. This was a western film. A famous scene, known as the "Northfield" scene, was shot right in the town.
Artrain USA Visit
In 1976, a special train called Artrain USA came to Parrott. This train was like a traveling art museum. Parrott was one of the few smaller towns it visited on its journey. When the Artrain came, there was a big arts and crafts show. People also showed how they made crafts.
Former President Jimmy Carter attended this event. He cut the ribbon to open the show. He also gave a speech to celebrate the occasion.
