Richland is a city located in Stewart County, Georgia, in the United States. It's a small city with a population of 1,370 people, according to the 2020 census. Richland is known for its history and its connection to some famous Georgians.

History of Richland
Richland got its name from the local Richland Baptist Church. It's thought that the church's name came from Richland, South Carolina. Many of the first people who settled here were from that area. The state government of Georgia, called the Georgia General Assembly, officially made Richland a city in 1889. This process is called "incorporation."
Where is Richland Located?
Richland is situated along two important roads: U.S. Route 280 and Georgia State Route 520. Route 520 is also known as the South Georgia Parkway. These roads help connect Richland to other cities.
- If you travel northwest on these roads, you can reach Columbus, which is about 36 miles (58 km) away.
- Inside Richland, the two highways split. U.S. Route 280 goes east for about 29 miles (47 km) to Americus.
- Georgia 520 heads southeast for about 52 miles (84 km) to Albany.
