About Paston
Paston was mostly built and developed during the 1970s and 1980s. Before 1974, there was a large area of land called Paston Ridings. This land was known as "common land," which meant everyone had the right to use it. It was a big open space, about 20 acres (8 hectares) in size.
Over the years, Paston has become a very diverse place. This means people from many different backgrounds and cultures live here. For example, there is a large Gypsy community. In 2001, about 8,650 people lived in Paston. The city of Peterborough is growing, and plans are in place to build more homes in Paston. This will help more people live in the city by 2020.
