James Patrick Christopher (born June 3, 1988) is a former American professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the California Golden Bears. He was chosen twice for the first-team all-conference selection in the Pac-10 (now known as the Pac-12). Patrick also briefly played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the Utah Jazz.

High School Basketball Journey
Patrick Christopher was born in Artesia, California. He started his high school basketball career at Mayfair High School in Lakewood, California. During his junior year (2004–05), he scored an average of 19.8 points per game. This helped his team achieve a good record of 19 wins and 10 losses.
For his final year, Christopher moved to Dominguez High School in Compton, California. There, he showed even more skill, averaging 21 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists per game. He earned first-team All-CIF honors for his great performance in the 2005–06 season. Experts rated him as one of the top basketball recruits in the country.
College Career Highlights
After high school, Christopher went to the University of California, Berkeley. He played for the Golden Bears college team. In his senior year, he averaged 15.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2 assists per game.
Patrick was named to the first-team All-Pac-10 after both his junior and senior seasons. He finished his college career as one of the top scorers in Golden Bear history. He ranked third with 1,700 points and fourth with 164 three-pointers made.
Professional Basketball Path
After college, Patrick Christopher was not chosen in the 2010 NBA draft. However, he still got a chance to play for the Detroit Pistons in the NBA Summer League.
Playing in Turkey and France
For the 2010–11 season, Christopher moved to Turkey. He played for Antalya BB. In 28 games, he averaged 15.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.3 steals per game.
In December 2011, Christopher signed with Cholet Basket in France. He played in the French LNB Pro A league. During the 2011–12 season, he averaged 12.8 points and 2.4 rebounds in 26 games.
In July 2012, Christopher joined the Sacramento Kings for the NBA Summer League, but he did not play. He then went back to Turkey for the 2012–13 season. He played for Beşiktaş. He averaged 11.0 points in the Turkish League. He also played in the EuroLeague, averaging 8.4 points.
Time in the NBA D-League and NBA
On September 27, 2013, Christopher signed with the Chicago Bulls. However, he was waived by the Bulls a few days later. On November 1, 2013, he joined the Iowa Energy in the NBA D-League (now called the G League). In 52 games during the 2013–14 season, he averaged 14.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.2 assists. He was recognized for his defense, being named to the NBA D-League All-Defensive Second Team.
On September 25, 2014, Christopher signed with the Memphis Grizzlies. He was waived again in October. He then returned to the Iowa Energy. On December 10, 2014, he signed with the Utah Jazz, which was his chance to play in the NBA.
On January 6, 2015, the Jazz waived him because of a knee injury. He played in four games for the Jazz, averaging 1.5 points and 1.5 rebounds.
Later Career
On September 14, 2015, Christopher re-signed with the Memphis Grizzlies, but was waived shortly after. On October 31, 2015, he was reacquired by the Iowa Energy. He played 20 games to finish the 2015–16 season. He averaged 15.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game.
In July 2016, Christopher played for the NBA D-League Select Team in the NBA Summer League. On September 11, 2016, he signed with Eisbären Bremerhaven in Germany. However, his contract was canceled because he could not pass the physical exam due to his knee.
Personal Life
Patrick Christopher is the son of Patricia and Laron Christopher. His brother, Josh Christopher, is also a professional basketball player. Patrick is also the godbrother of former NBA player Tayshaun Prince.
In 2019, Christopher started his own luxury menswear brand called Sloan and Bennett. The brand is named after the cross streets where he grew up in Compton, California.
