James Patrick Christopher (born June 3, 1988) is a former professional basketball player from America. He played college basketball for the California Golden Bears. He was chosen as a top player in the Pac-10 conference twice. He also played a short time in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the Utah Jazz.

High School Basketball Journey
Patrick Christopher was born in Artesia, California. He went to Mayfair High School in Lakewood, California for his first three years. During his junior year (2004–05), he scored about 19.8 points in each game. He helped his team win 19 games and lose 10.
For his last year of high school, Christopher moved to Dominguez High School in Compton, California. There, he averaged 21 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists per game. He was named to the first-team All-CIF for the 2005–06 season. Experts thought he was one of the best players in the country.
College Basketball Career
After high school, Christopher went to the University of California, Berkeley. He played for the Golden Bears. In his senior year, he averaged 15.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2 assists.
He was named a first-team All-Pac-10 player in both his junior and senior years. Christopher finished his college career with 1,700 points. This made him the third-highest scorer in Golden Bear history. He also made 164 three-pointers, ranking him fourth.
Professional Basketball Career
Patrick Christopher was not chosen in the 2010 NBA draft. However, he played for the Detroit Pistons in the NBA Summer League. After that, he moved to Turkey for the 2010–11 season. He played for a team called Antalya BB. In 28 games, he averaged 15.9 points and 4.4 rebounds.
In December 2011, Christopher signed with Cholet Basket in France. He played 26 games during the 2011–12 season. He averaged 12.8 points and 2.4 rebounds per game.
In July 2012, Christopher joined the Sacramento Kings for the NBA Summer League. He did not play in any games. Later, he went back to Turkey for the 2012–13 season. He played for Beşiktaş. He averaged 11.0 points in the Turkish League. He also played in the EuroLeague, averaging 8.4 points.
On September 27, 2013, Christopher signed with the Chicago Bulls. But he was released by the Bulls on October 2. He then joined the Iowa Energy in the NBA D-League on November 1, 2013. In 52 games during the 2013–14 season, he averaged 14.8 points and 4.0 rebounds. He was also named to the NBA D-League All-Defensive Second Team. This means he was one of the best defensive players.
On September 25, 2014, Christopher signed with the Memphis Grizzlies. He was released by the Grizzlies on October 25. He then rejoined the Iowa Energy on October 31, 2014. On December 10, 2014, he signed with the Utah Jazz. He was released by the Jazz on January 6, 2015, because of a knee injury. He played in four games for the Jazz.
On September 14, 2015, Christopher signed again with the Memphis Grizzlies. He was released just nine days later. On October 31, 2015, he was reacquired by the Iowa Energy. He was not active for some time but returned to play on February 16, 2016. In 20 games, he averaged 15.3 points and 2.7 rebounds.
In July 2016, Christopher played for the NBA D-League Select Team in the NBA Summer League. On September 11, 2016, he signed with a German team, Eisbären Bremerhaven. However, he could not pass the physical exam due to his knee. So, the team ended his contract on September 22, 2016.
Personal Life and Interests
Patrick Christopher's parents are Patricia and Laron Christopher. He has a brother named Josh Christopher, who is also a basketball player. Josh plays for the Sioux Falls Skyforce. Patrick is also the godbrother of former NBA player Tayshaun Prince.
In 2019, Christopher started his own company called Sloan and Bennett. It is a brand that sells fancy menswear. He named it after the streets where he grew up in Compton, California.
