Paul Lynch (born in 1977) is a famous Irish writer. He writes novels with a beautiful, poetic style. He has written five books and won many awards. These include the 2018 Kerry Group Irish Fiction Award and the big 2023 Booker Prize for his book Prophet Song.

Early Life and Education
Paul Lynch was born in Limerick, a city in the south-west of Ireland, in 1977. When he was nine months old, his family moved. They went to the north of County Donegal in Ulster. This is the northern part of Ireland.
He spent his childhood and teenage years there. His father worked for the Coast and Cliff Rescue Service. His mother was a teacher who helped adults learn to read and write. Paul is the oldest of three children.
Since 1995, Paul Lynch has lived outside County Donegal. He studied English and Philosophy at University College, Dublin. Before becoming a novelist, he worked for a newspaper called The Sunday Tribune. He was a sub-editor and a film critic there.

Prophet Song
