Peng Yuchang (simplified Chinese: 彭昱畅; traditional Chinese: 彭昱暢; pinyin: Péng Yùchàng) is a talented Chinese actor and singer. He was born on October 25, 1994. Peng became well-known after appearing in the movie Our Shining Days in 2017. He also starred in the award-winning film An Elephant Sitting Still in 2018.
Some of his other popular movies include Go Brother! (2018) and Viva La Vida (2024). On television, Peng played a main role in The Prince of Tennis (2019). This show was a Chinese version of a famous Japanese manga. He also appeared in Run For Young (2020) and the fantasy show I'm Nobody (2023).
In 2019, CCTV-6's China Movie Report named Peng as one of the "New Generation Four Young Actors Skilled in Acting." Forbes China also included him on their "30 Under 30 Asia" list in 2019. This list features 30 influential people under 30 years old.

Early Life and Education
Peng Yuchang grew up in Xinyu, Jiangxi, China. When he was a child, his grandparents often took care of him. This was because his parents were busy with their jobs. He started learning to play the saxophone when he was young.
In 2012, Peng went to the Shanghai Theatre Academy. He studied puppetry there. During his time at the academy, he performed in plays like Come On, My Life!.
Acting Career
Peng Yuchang started his acting journey in 2015. His first role was in a web drama called Go Princess Go. He gained attention for playing the character Eunuch Jiang. In 2016, he starred in another web drama, Stardom, where he played an artist.
Early Roles and Recognition
Peng took on his first main role in 2016 in the fantasy web drama Weapon & Soul. He also appeared in the show Men with Sword. In 2017, Peng played a swimmer in the Chinese sports drama My Mr. Mermaid.
He then starred in the musical film Our Shining Days. For this role, he was nominated for awards like Best Actor at the Asian New Talent Awards. He also appeared in the second season of Weapon & Soul 2.
Breakthrough Performances
In 2018, Peng joined The Birth of Actors. This was a popular TV show where actors competed by re-enacting famous scenes. Even though he only made it to the Top 15, his performances impressed the audience and judges. Famous actors like Zhang Ziyi praised his acting. He even got to perform with Tao Hong in a scene from The Last Emperor. He played Emperor Puyi at different ages.
The same year, Peng starred in the comedy film Go Brother!. This movie was based on a popular Chinese comic. It was very successful and got high ratings. Peng was also chosen by director Hu Bo for his drama film An Elephant Sitting Still. He played the role without pay because it was a low-budget movie. However, he accepted because the director valued his talent. For his work in this film, Peng was nominated for Best Leading Actor at the 55th Golden Horse Awards.

In 2019, Peng appeared in the family drama All Is Well. He also starred in the youth sports drama The Prince of Tennis. In this show, he played a talented tennis player named Lu Xia. Professional tennis stars Li Na and Jiang Shan also made guest appearances. The show was shown on Hunan TV and on Netflix. He also acted in the fantasy film Over Again and the drama The Last Wish.
In 2020, Peng starred in the coming-of-age web drama Run For Young. He also played a young version of the Chinese women's national volleyball team coach in the sports film Leap. He appeared in the comedy film Coffee or Tea?, which was very popular. This movie was the opening film for the 2020 Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival. He was also named a volunteer ambassador for the 2020 Hainan Island International Film Festival.
In 2021, Peng starred in the musical film The Day We Lit Up the Sky. This movie was a sequel to Run For Young. He also acted in the historical movie The Pioneer. He was chosen as the National Film Promoter for the 11th Beijing International Film Festival.
Peng is also well-known for being a cast member on the TV show Back To Field. He has been a part of this show for five years in a row.
