Peterhead is a suburb located in the north-west part of Adelaide, South Australia. It's about 15 kilometers (9 miles) from Adelaide's city center. Peterhead is on the Lefevre Peninsula, a piece of land surrounded by water on three sides. It is part of the City of Port Adelaide Enfield. Nearby suburbs include Largs Bay and Birkenhead. Peterhead's History
Peterhead was first planned in August 1875. A man named William Diverall, who worked with land in Port Adelaide, created the suburb. He named it Peterhead after his home country, Scotland. A post office for Peterhead opened around 1886.
Places in Peterhead
Peterhead has several useful places for its residents. There isn't a primary school directly in Peterhead. The closest one is Le Fevre Primary School, located in Birkenhead. For older students, Le Fevre High School is nearby in Semaphore South.

The Peterhead railway station is on the Outer Harbor railway line. This station is just south of Peterhead's border, on Hargrave Street in Birkenhead.
