Petersburg is a small village located in Boone County, Nebraska, in the United States. In 2020, about 332 people lived there. Petersburg is also home to a special memorial for Logan Fontenelle. He was an important chief of the Omaha tribe. Logan Fontenelle was killed in a fight with the Brulé and Arapaho tribes in 1855, near where the Olson Nature Preserve is today.

History of Petersburg
Petersburg was officially planned and laid out in 1887. This happened when the railroad lines were built and extended to reach this area. The community was named after John Peters, who was the original owner of the land where the town was built.
Geography and Location
