Petersburg Borough is a special kind of county in the state of Alaska, United States. It is located in the southeastern part of Alaska. In 2020, about 3,398 people lived there. The main town and government center is called Petersburg.

History of Petersburg Borough
Petersburg Borough was officially created in 2013. It was formed from parts of two other areas. These were the Hoonah-Angoon Census Area and the old Petersburg Census Area. Before this, the Petersburg Census Area was made in 2008. This happened when the City and Borough of Wrangell became its own separate area.

Petersburg Borough is located in the middle of Southeast Alaska. It covers a total area of about 3,829 square miles. Most of this area, about 2,921 square miles, is land. The rest, about 908 square miles, is water.
