Petrel (sometimes spelled Petrell) is a very small, quiet place in Minnesota, United States. It's known as an "unincorporated community." This means it's a group of homes and people living together, but it doesn't have its own separate local government like a city or town does. Instead, it's part of a larger area called Fairbanks Township in Saint Louis County. Petrel is also located inside a huge natural area called the Superior National Forest.
Where is Petrel Located?
Petrel is found in the northeastern part of Minnesota. It sits east of another community called Fairbanks. It's also north of a place named Brimson.

You can find Petrel near where two roads meet: Saint Louis County Highway 44 and County Road 353, which is also known as Little Creek Road. Close by, County Highway 44 also connects with County Highway 16. These roads help people get to and from this small community.
