Pierron is a small village in Illinois, United States. It is located in both Bond and Madison counties. In 2020, about 459 people lived there. Pierron is also part of the larger St. Louis metropolitan area.

History of Pierron
How the Village Began
Pierron got its first post office in 1870. The village was planned in 1871. It was named after its founder, a person named Jacques Pierron. Pierron officially became a village in 1893.

Pierron is a village located in two counties: Bond County and Madison County in Illinois. It has two main parts, about 4 miles (6.4 km) apart. These two parts are connected by Illinois Route 143.
Different Sections of the Village
The western part of Pierron is sometimes called "Pierron Station." This section is right on the line between Bond and Madison counties. A railroad line, the CSX Transportation St. Louis Line, also crosses through this area.
The eastern part of the village is known as "Millersburg." It is about four miles (6.4 km) east of the western section. Nearby towns include Highland, which is about 5 miles (8 km) southwest of western Pierron. Pocahontas is about 4 miles (6.4 km) north of eastern Pierron.
Land and Water Features
The village of Pierron covers a total area of about 0.73 square miles (1.90 square kilometers). All of this area is land. The western part of Pierron has water that flows west into Sugar Creek. The eastern part drains east into Shoal Creek. Both of these creeks flow south and are part of the Kaskaskia River system.
