Pine Island Center is a small community located on Pine Island in Lee County, Florida, United States. It is known as a census-designated place (CDP), which means it's an area identified by the United States Census Bureau for statistical purposes, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city.
In 2020, about 1,942 people lived in Pine Island Center. This was a small increase from the 1,854 people counted in 2010. The community is part of the larger Cape Coral-Fort Myers, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Pine Island Center is found in the north-central part of Pine Island. Its exact location is 26°37′59″N 82°7′19″W / 26.63306°N 82.12194°W.
Neighboring Communities
To the north of Pine Island Center, you'll find the communities of Pineland and Bokeelia. To the south is St. James City. These four communities together make up all of Pine Island.
Surrounding Waters
On the east side of Pine Island Center are Pine Island Creek and Matlacha Pass. To the west is Pine Island Sound. All of these water bodies are connected to the Gulf of Mexico.
Roads and Travel
A main road, County Road 78 (also called Pine Island Road NW), crosses the southern part of Pine Island Center. This road goes east across Little Pine Island to the mainland, leading about 16 miles (26 km) to North Fort Myers.
Another important road is County Road 767 (Stringfellow Road). This road runs all the way along Pine Island. It's about 7 miles (11 km) north to Bokeelia and 8 miles (13 km) south to St. James City.
