Plantsville is a neighborhood in the town of Southington, Connecticut, United States. It is located in Hartford County. Plantsville is where South Main Street and West Main Street meet. These roads connect to the Milldale and Marion areas. In 2015, Plantsville became a special area called a census-designated place.

Where is Plantsville?
Plantsville is in the south-central part of Southington. You can find it at 41° 34′ 56" North and 72° 53′ 25" West. It is just south of the main town center of Southington.
The borders of Plantsville follow Prospect Street and Carter Lane to the north. Old Turnpike Road is on the east side. Mulberry Street is to the south. Atwater Street and Interstate 84 are on the west. Connecticut Route 10 (also called Main Street) goes right through the middle of Plantsville. This road leads north to Southington's center and south to Cheshire.
The Quinnipiac River flows through Plantsville. It runs just west of Route 10.
The 1962 Tornado
On May 24, 1962, a very strong tornado hit Plantsville. This tornado was almost an F4, which is a very powerful type of tornado. It damaged or destroyed many buildings, homes, and businesses. Cars were also damaged. The storm caused one death and injured 50 people in the area.
Plantsville's Historic District
The Plantsville Historic District is a special area with many old buildings. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. This district is important because it shows how the community grew. You can see many different styles of buildings from the 1800s and early 1900s. These buildings show Plantsville's history as a busy industrial village.
One famous building is the Plantsville Congregational Church. It was built in 1866. This church is a great example of Gothic Revival architecture. It was designed by a famous architect named Josiah Cleveland Cady.

Plantsville has three schools for students. These are Plantsville School, Strong Elementary School, and John F. Kennedy Middle School.
