A Fleet of Fun Planes
All Nippon Airways started this exciting project in 1998. Over the years, they decorated many different types of planes, including large Boeing 747s, Boeing 767s, Boeing 777s, and even a Boeing 737. Each plane had its own unique design, featuring a variety of Pokémon characters.
Evolving Designs Over Time
The designs on the Pokémon Jets changed as new Pokémon games and movies came out. The first jets, launched in 1998, featured classic Pokémon like Pikachu, Mew, Snorlax, and Jigglypuff. Later, planes showcased Pokémon from newer generations, such as Marill, Plusle, Minun, and even Deoxys. The most recent design, from 2020, features the Alolan-form Exeggutor.
Inside the Pokémon Jets
It wasn't just the outside of the planes that were special! The interiors were also decorated to match the Pokémon theme. This made the whole flying experience feel like you were stepping into the world of Pokémon. Imagine seeing Pokémon designs on the seats, trays, or even the flight attendants' uniforms!
When Did They Fly?
Most of the Pokémon Jets flew for several years before their special paint jobs were removed. For example, some of the early jets flew from 1998 to 2001, while others flew until 2006 or even 2013. The newest Pokémon Jet, featuring Alolan Exeggutor, started flying in December 2020. These planes brought joy to many travelers, especially Pokémon fans, for over two decades.
