Pond Fork, also known as Pondfork Creek, is a stream located in the western part of Ozark County, Missouri. It is an important waterway in the region, flowing through different areas before joining a larger body of water.

About Pond Fork

Pond Fork begins its journey in the northwest corner of Ozark County. From there, it flows generally towards the south-southeast. This stream is a natural part of the landscape in the Ozarks region.

Where Pond Fork Flows

As Pond Fork travels, it passes under Missouri Route 95. This happens between the small towns of Thornfield and Longrun. The stream continues its path until it reaches its end point.

The mouth of Pond Fork is at the northern branch of Bull Shoals Lake. This lake is a large reservoir that spans parts of Missouri and Arkansas. The stream joins the lake just northeast of Theodosia.

Before Bull Shoals Lake was created by a dam, Pond Fork used to flow into another river. It was a tributary to the Little North Fork White River. It joined that river just north of Theodosia.

How Pond Fork Got Its Name

The name "Pond Fork" is quite simple to understand. The stream was named because it is fed by a pond located near its starting point, or "headwaters." So, the name tells you a little bit about where the water in the stream comes from.
