Porterfield is a small town located in Marinette County, Wisconsin, in the United States. In 2000, about 1,991 people lived here. Several smaller communities, like Bagley Junction, Miles, Porterfield, Rubys Corner, and Walsh, are also part of the town.

History of Porterfield
The town of Porterfield was officially formed on March 26, 1887. It was created from two older areas in the county, Marinette and Peshtigo. The town was named after a local person, John Porterfield, who was a farmer and businessman in the area.
Geography of the Town
Porterfield covers a total area of about 53.3 square miles (138.1 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 51.8 square miles (134.1 square kilometers), is land. The remaining 1.5 square miles (4.0 square kilometers) is water, like rivers or lakes.

In 2000, there were 1,991 people living in Porterfield. These people lived in 770 different homes. Most of the people living in Porterfield were White (about 98.95%). A small number of people were from other backgrounds.

Porterfield is famous for its yearly Porterfield Country Music Festival. This is a fun weekend of outdoor concerts held every summer. It brings together both local musicians and well-known country music stars.
Many famous artists have performed at the festival over the years. These include legends like Johnny Cash, Charlie Daniels, Crystal Gayle, Merle Haggard, and Loretta Lynn. In 2005, artists like Juice Newton, The Oak Ridge Boys, SHeDaisy, Glen Campbell, Sugarland, and Trick Pony performed there.
