The Story of the Potato Museum
How It Started
The idea for the Potato Museum began in 1975. It was a fun classroom project created by students of a teacher named Tom Hughes. This happened at The International School of Brussels in Belgium.
Where It Has Been
For several years, the museum was located in Washington, D.C., in the United States. You could visit it by making an appointment.
In the early 1990s, the museum's amazing collections were part of two big national shows. One was at Ottawa's National Museum of Science and Technology in Canada. The other was at the famous Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History in the U.S.
In 1993, the Potato Museum moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico.
