Prawn soup, also called shrimp soup, is a yummy soup made with prawns (which are like big shrimp!) from fresh or salty water. Lots of different prawn soups are enjoyed all over the world! Some famous ones include Penang prawn mee from Malaysia, chupe de camarones from Peru, kaeng som kung from Thailand, and caldo de camarones from Mexico.
Prawn and shrimp soups can be clear like a broth, creamy, or thick like a chowder. In the United States, you can even find creamy shrimp soup sold in cans or frozen.
