Prescott is a small city located in Columbia County, Oregon, in the United States. It was named in 1905 after the person who owned the local sawmill. In 2021, about 68 people lived there. Most residents were around 60 years old, with slightly more females than males.

Geography of Prescott
Prescott is a very small city. According to official records, its total area is about 0.06 square miles (0.16 square kilometers). All of this area is land, meaning there are no large bodies of water within the city limits.
History of Prescott
Prescott started as a mill town. This means it grew up around a large sawmill. The sawmill was located on the west side of town. Today, that area is known as Prescott Beach.
The community got its name in 1905. It was named after the people who owned the sawmill. A post office opened in Prescott on May 21, 1907. It served the community for many years before closing on May 15, 1946.
The Nearby Nuclear Plant
Even though Prescott is small, it was very close to an important site. The Trojan Nuclear Power Plant was located less than a mile away. Many people thought the plant was in Rainier, a nearby community. However, it was actually very close to Prescott. The plant's large cooling tower was taken down in May 2006.
