Preston is a small village located in Hickory County, Missouri, in the United States. In 2020, the population of Preston was 157 people. It is a quiet community in the heart of Missouri.
Preston's Past
Preston was officially planned and mapped out in 1857. This process is called "platting." There are a couple of ideas about how the village got its name. Some people believe it was named after Samuel Preston, who was an early settler in the area. Others think the name came from a place called Preston, Pennsylvania. A post office has been open in Preston since 1881, helping people send and receive mail for a long time.
