The Princess and the Frog is a fun animated movie from 2009. It's a romantic musical fantasy comedy-drama movie. Walt Disney Animation Studios made it, and Walt Disney Pictures released it. This movie is the 49th film in the famous Walt Disney Animated Classics series.

The story is based on a novel called The Frog Princess by E. D. Baker. That book was inspired by the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale, "The Frog Prince". The movie takes place in the exciting city of New Orleans, Louisiana in the 1920s. It follows a hardworking waitress named Tiana. She dreams of opening her very own restaurant. But her life changes when she kisses a prince who has been turned into a frog. Tiana then becomes a frog herself! Now, they both must find a way to become human again.

The movie first came out in New York and Los Angeles on November 25, 2009. It was then shown in more movie theaters on December 11, 2009.
