Bruno Campos was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on December 3, 1973. His father, Paulo Campos, worked for a bank and was a lawyer. His mother, Thania Campos, was an actress. Bruno is one of four children.
When he was five years old, Bruno and his family left Brazil. They lived in different countries like Canada and Bahrain, and also in the United States. This was because of his father's job.
When Bruno was fourteen, his family moved back to Brazil. However, Bruno decided to stay in the United States to finish his schooling. He wanted to improve his English and learn more about American culture.
Bruno started acting when he was nine, at a special arts school in Toronto. At thirteen, he played Prince Charming in a school play of Cinderella.
Later, he attended the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan. He then studied drama at Northwestern University and earned his bachelor's degree in 1995.

In 2004, he joined the cast of Nip/Tuck, a medical drama on FX. He played a plastic surgeon named Quentin Costa.
