Pulaski County is a name used for seven different areas in the United States. All of these places are named after a famous hero named Kazimierz Pułaski. He was a brave soldier who helped the United States during the American Revolutionary War.

Who Was Casimir Pulaski?

Kazimierz Pułaski (pronounced Kah-ZEE-meer Poo-LAH-skee) was born in Poland in 1745. He was a nobleman and a military commander. He came to America in 1777 to help the colonists fight for their independence from Great Britain.

Pulaski became a general in the Continental Army. He was known for his skills with cavalry, which are soldiers who fight on horseback. He played a key role in several important battles, including the Battle of Brandywine and the Siege of Savannah. Because of his bravery and contributions, he is often called the "Father of the American Cavalry." Sadly, he died from injuries during the Siege of Savannah in 1779. Many places in the U.S. are named after him to honor his memory.
