Puli Alam (also spelled Pul-i-Alam or Pol-e Alam) is an important city in Afghanistan. It is the main city and capital of Logar Province. This means it's where the government of the province is located.

The city of Puli Alam had about 22,914 people living there in 2015. The larger area around the city, called Puli Alam District, has about 108,000 people. Most people in this area are from the Pashtun and Tajik groups.

Puli Alam covers a land area of about 3,752 hectares. It is divided into four main parts, called districts. In August 2021, the city was taken over by Taliban fighters.

History of Puli Alam

After the Taliban government was no longer in power, Puli Alam started to rebuild. Many projects helped fix up the city. A special group called a provincial reconstruction team from the Czech Republic was based here. They helped with many building and development projects.

Climate and Weather

Puli Alam is located high up in the mountains. This gives it a special kind of weather. It has a climate where summers are hot and dry. Winters, on the other hand, are very cold and snowy.

Land Use in Puli Alam
