Fouzia Azeem (born March 1, 1990 – died July 15, 2016), known as Qandeel Baloch, was a Pakistani model, actress, and social media celebrity. She was one of the first people in Pakistan to become famous just by using social media.
Qandeel became well-known because of her videos on social media. In these videos, she talked about her daily life and shared her thoughts on different topics. She also spoke about the rights of women in Pakistan.
She first gained attention in 2013 when she tried out for Pakistan Idol. Her audition became very popular, and she quickly became an Internet celebrity. She was one of the most searched people on the internet in Pakistan. People both admired and criticized her videos and posts.

Early Life and Beginnings
Qandeel Baloch was born on March 1, 1990, in Dera Ghazi Khan District, Punjab. Her family was from the Baloch group. She grew up in a family that did not have much money. Her parents, Anwar Bibi and Muhammad Azeem, were local farmers. She had six brothers and two sisters.
From a young age, Qandeel was interested in her studies, as well as acting and singing. Before she became famous, her first job was working as a bus hostess.
Rise to Social Media Fame
Qandeel Baloch's fame came from her posts on social media. These included pictures, videos, and comments. Many people in Pakistan found her posts to be very bold and unusual.
Some of her most popular videos featured her asking, "How em luking?" (How am I looking?). She also had a funny and catchy way of saying, "Maire sar mai pain ho raha hai" (my head hurts). Some international news media even compared her to Kim Kardashian, another famous social media personality. By 2014, Qandeel started appearing regularly on Pakistani talk shows. Tragic Passing
On July 15, 2016, Qandeel Baloch passed away at her parents' home in Multan. Her brother, M. Waseem, was involved in her death.
In September 2019, her brother Waseem was sentenced to life in prison for her murder. However, he was later released three years after his conviction.
Public Reactions
Many famous people and individuals around the world spoke out against Qandeel Baloch's death. Some people in Pakistan, however, supported her murder.
Many well-known figures, including Madonna, Khloé Kardashian, Miley Cyrus, Jamie Lee Curtis, Imran Khan, and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, condemned the incident. The British Prime Minister at the time, Theresa May, also spoke out against the murder.
