History of the Regiment
The Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada are known for their bravery. They fought with great courage in World War I. During this time, they formed five different groups of soldiers for the Canadian Expeditionary Force. These groups were the 16th, 27th, 43rd, 174th, and 179th battalions.
The regiment also took part in the 1942 Dieppe Raid during World War II. They continued to serve across northwest Europe throughout the war. Their history shows their important role in Canada's military past.
