Rachel McCoy's Athletics Career

Rachel McCoy has had a fantastic career in high jump. In May 2021, she jumped 1.93 m (6 ft 4 in) at a competition in Tucson, Arizona. This was her best jump ever at that time. Just a week later, she jumped even higher, reaching 1.96 m (6 ft 5 in). This jump was good enough to qualify her for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Olympic Dreams and Big Competitions

In June 2021, Rachel was ranked 19th in the world for high jump. She competed in the Olympic Trials and finished in fourth place. Even though she tied for fourth, she was one of only three American athletes who had met the special qualifying height. Because of this, she was chosen to join the American team for the Tokyo Olympics, which happened in 2021.

Rachel had also met the qualifying height for the 2016 Olympics. However, she finished 9th in the 2016 Olympic Trials and was not selected for the team that year. She also represented Team USA at the 2016 NACAC U23 Championships in Athletics. She placed 4th in the women's high jump at that event.

In November 2023, Rachel won a gold medal at the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile. This was a huge win for her!
