Ragunda Municipality (in Swedish: Ragunda kommun) is a local government area in Jämtland County in northern Sweden. Its main town and administrative center is Hammarstrand.
The current municipality was created in 1974. This happened when the "old" Ragunda Municipality joined with two other areas, Fors and Stugun. People have talked about joining with more areas because the number of people living here has gone down, but this has not happened yet.
Ragunda Municipality is famous for a special building called the King Chulalongkorn Memorial Building. It is near the village of Utanede. This building looks like a royal pavilion from Thailand. It is the only one of its kind outside Thailand. It was built in 1997 to remember a visit by King Chulalongkorn of Thailand a hundred years earlier.
Another popular place to visit is Döda Fallet (which means The dead waterfall). This used to be a powerful whitewater rapid, but now it is dry. It is part of a nature reserve and is one of the biggest tourist spots in the municipality.
