Helping People: The Chhipa Welfare Association
A Fleet of Ambulances
The Chhipa Welfare Association has over 500 special ambulances. These ambulances are ready to help people quickly. They are driven by Chhipa volunteers who are trained to give first aid. Each ambulance has first aid kits and oxygen tanks.
These ambulances are placed in over 150 spots across Karachi and other parts of Pakistan. You can find them in important places, on city roundabouts, and near hospitals. This helps them reach people who need help right away, like sick people or those in emergencies.
How It Started
Ramzan Chhipa decided to create the Chhipa Welfare Association after a sad event in 1987. There was a car bombing in Bohri Bazaar in Karachi. This event showed how much people needed immediate help and support. So, he started his organization to make sure help was always available.
