Rashawn Slater (born March 26, 1999) is an American professional football player. He plays as an offensive tackle for the Los Angeles Chargers in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Northwestern Wildcats. The Chargers chose him in the first round of the 2021 NFL draft.

Early Life and High School Football
Rashawn Slater grew up in Sugar Land, Texas. He went to Fort Settlement Middle School and Clements High School. In high school, he was a top player on his team. He was named first team All-District in his junior and senior years. He was also named second team All-Greater Houston.
Many colleges wanted him to play for them. He chose to play college football for the Northwestern Wildcats. He picked Northwestern over other schools like Illinois and Kansas.
College Football Career
When Rashawn started college, he was a "true freshman." This means he played in his very first year. He started 12 games as a right tackle. He was named to the Big Ten Conference All-Freshman Team. Experts at Pro Football Focus said he was the best freshman offensive lineman in the country.
In his second year, he started all 14 games for Northwestern. He was named to the third team All-Big Ten. This is a big honor for players in the Big Ten Conference.
